Silvia Monticelli ha ottenuto il suo Dottorato in Biologia presso l’Università di Milano, dove si è specializzata in Biologia Molecolare. Dal luglio 2000 al gennaio 2007 è stata impegnata nel tirocinio di post-dottorato nel laboratorio di Anjana Rao presso il Center for Blood Research della Harvard Medical School di Boston (USA) e nel febbraio 2007 è entrata a far parte dell’Istituto di Ricerca in Biomedicina. La Dr.ssa Monticelli ha pubblicato diversi articoli relativi a vari aspetti dei meccanismi molecolari che stanno alla base dello sviluppo di patologie quali asma e allergie. Di recente si è dedicata sia allo studio del ruolo dei microRNA (una classe relativamente nuova di molecole regolatorie) nel controllo dello sviluppo e delle funzioni delle cellule del sistema immunitario. |
