Fabio Grassi earned his degree in Medicine at the University of Pavia in 1985 and a Ph.D. in Microbiology at the University of Milan in 1993. He was a Anna Villa Rusconi fellow at the University of Umeä in Sweden (1988), post-doctoral fellow at the Institut Pasteur in Paris (1989-1993), assistant professor at San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan (1994-1998), Marie Curie fellow at Hôpital Necker in Paris (1998-2000) and Special Fellow of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School in Boston (2000-2002). He is associate professor of Biology at the Medical School of the University of Milan. In September 2002, he joined the IRB as head of the T Cell Development lab. His research is focused on various aspects of T cell physiology, including protein and membrane trafficking, signal transduction, control of cell growth and intercellular communications during T cell development and in immunopathological conditions. |
